Message in a Bottle.

Message in a bottle – A life saver

This is a wonderful idea for anyone who is elderly, disabled or who lives with dementia, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy or any condition that may cause loss of consciousness or memory. Maybe we should all have one if we take more than two types of prescription medicines?

In the case of  an emergency the attending medics will instantly recognise you have a medical condition from the green cross on a white square sticker on your front door. They will also know that in your fridge you will have put a bottle containing a sheet of paper detailing your condition, medication and doses, doctor, next of kin etc.

This is the wonderful idea and available from the Charitable Organisation ” The Lions Club”using their on line ordering service and they are also available from doctors surgeries and pharmacies.

  1. Where can we get for our club
    Cairde Club Clarinbridge Co Galway

  2. Yes, that would be a really good idea and also in the person’s hospital bag which I would recommend people keep in their wardrobes.

  3. A copy could be kept in the emergency pots. I also suggest people keep a copy in their “Hospital Bag” a pre-packet just in case of emergency bag.

  4. Would a dnr be kept in this

  5. So sorry for the slow response Deborah. I believe it mya be your local Lions Club who may be able to source some of the message in a bottle pots for you. I don’t stock them myself.Sorry, not to be more helpful but this was an initiative inspired by the Lions.

  6. We use to have a stock of your “message in a bottle” life savers. We are now down to the last one. These have been a god send to the elderly and carers of vulnerable people. The Carers Centre support any unpaid carers in Leicester Leicestershire and Rutland.
