This Charity offers comprehensive and up to date information guides on the most common issues faced by older people. They have really useful fact-sheets regarding the financial assessments relating to long term care and what you can and cannot do with your money and property.
They also offer a vital befriending service for anyone who is lonely, which can be a lifesaver. Watch the very touching short video “Ron’s Story” to realise what a difference this service can make.
Independent Age campaign to raise political and public awareness of the needs of our ageing society. They work to ensure that older people and their friends and families are made aware of their rights to access services and make informed decisions regarding the care and support they require. And of course they are the hosts of the Older People in the Media Awards, championing the best in the industry in various media forms who highlight the pleasure and plight of our elderly population. I was delighted to be a finalist in 2014.
