Dementia and couples

Dementia and how it affect couples.

One of the things I most enjoy about writing this blog is how I meet so many interesting people with similar interests. Recently I was introduced to Damian Murphy who offers dementia friendly training and consultancy.

He has worked in the dementia field for many years and has chosen to specialise in the niche of couples and how the disease affects their relationship. He offers training to help third party carers such as myself to understand how to handle the situation without always resorting to the one sided “tea and sympathy” option. I have just started to look at his very well written and educational blog and it houses a wealth of information valuable to not only carers but adult children of someone with dementia.

Damian has made a short film highlighting the importance of his work which I will share here. It is very moving and reduced me to tears.

Here is the link to Damian’s blog. I am sure you will find it as interesting as I am.For any of my local readers, Damian is looking to runs some course in the South West, any takers?
