The Social Care Alliance
The election may be over but the politics is not. Social Care is a topical challenge, one that is not going away now the votes have been counted, and with the Conservatives remaining in office their manifesto, harsh at is was, remains.
Many people like myself fight for better care for the elderly. I am now also campaigning for more recognition for carers. Like cogs in a system. Unpaid carers are a hidden army, doing an amazing job, saving the Government and I suppose indirectly us all money. Carers save £132billion a year, more than is actually spent on the NHS.
I plan to bring us all together under one roof. Those that will join. This is not my group, this alliance is for everyone who is caring for someone elderly or even just interested in the care sector and its mechanics. It will be interesting to see which of the other campaigners will join because one thing I have noticed is even in good will gesturing and campaigning there are divided factions. There can be an element of bullying and trolling online, which in itself is incredibly sad not to mention disappointing.
The Social Care Alliance is a place to meet and share with others who have an interest in care. I want it to be apolitical if possible and a depository for good and bad. I want to keep it as a page so it can be easily shared and word spread. Please use this link to join us. I am hoping to be able to find an independent chairperson and spokesperson to get our voices heard. As a huge task force, I am hopeful maybe we will be less invisible.
