Recycle in 2016 and help raise funds for Age UK

The New Year is always a good time to consider a de-clutter for anyone. Unwanted Christmas gifts or better ones leaving items now un-required are all welcomed at Age UK shops throughout the UK.

Elderly people are notorious hoarders having lived through the war and the following years when plenty was not a common word. A little clear out for them may seem traumatic even but with a little help can provide a less cluttered and ultimately safer home.

Age UK has about 450 shops and each one is delighted to accept any items that are now surplus to requirements. Age UK will accept mobile phones, printer ink cartridges ( these are worth £1 a time), broken costume jewellery and hardback books that are falling apart. If the person taking the items to the shop is a UK taxpayer you can also gift aid the donations which adds an additional 25p in the £1 they make.

Other items they will take include, curtains, linens, other home furnishings such as bedding and cushions, photo frames, plant pots, the list is extensive. It’s a great Charity to help with the knowledge that the proceeds raised are given back to elderly people in need.
