Happy New Year

Whilst I am excited about the arrival of 2018, I am also mindful that a New Year is not always a cause for celebration.

For many people caring for a loved one, especially someone with dementia, the New Year marks merely another 365 days of stress, isolation, frustration, and heartache. What is there to be excited about when day in, day out life remains the same?

I feel more strongly than ever that 2018 needs to be the year we all start to care a little more about others in our community. Just tiny little steps to make a difference, when taken by many can have a huge impact in the lives of elderly people and those who care for them.

I am waiting with baited breath to hear if my little blog has made it to the finals of the UK Blog Awards 2018. The public vote lasted for 16 days of which 5 of those I was away for so if I do get there then it really is cause for celebration as I have fallen back in love with it since it’s recent makeover. I will let you know how I get on and if I do get to the finals in April I will really appreciate it this year as it will also be the 4th year in row to do so. Fingers crossed, it would be an amazing start to 2018 for me as I look forward to making Caron Cares the best independent eldercare blog.
