Challenge

this is a photo of me sporting a high vis vest as part of my bid to keep mobility scooter users safe. Can I make mobility scooter manufacturers listen?

In my bid to help keep mobility scooter users safer I have emailed eleven of the leading manufacturers to ask they them if they feel they are responsible for keeping their users safer.
I wrote….
“As one of the UK’s Leading independent elder care blogger I am contacting all mobility scooter manufacturers to ask if you don’t feel a corporate social responsibility to ensure the safety of your mobility scooter users? With over 350,000 users in the UK alone and more and more road deaths involving them, it’s time to step up to the gauntlet and start making your scooters highly visible as standard.
We wouldn’t allow a  child on the road or pavement on a toy that could travel at 4-8 mph without a helmet, yet we allow our elderly !
I worked with my local Rotary last year and provided 100 high Viz vests to local scooter users in a personal effort to keep people safer. I shouldn’t have to this is YOUR responsibility, not mine. I welcome your thoughts and challenge you to be the first manufacturer to make the front, back, and sides of your scooters high viz with reflective material as standard.
Lead and others will follow”
