Large Print Puzzles

There is a distinct lack of large print puzzle books in our shops.

I live in a town where ( in 2011) 27% of the population are aged 45-65 and 13% are aged over 75. We are an ageing town in an ageing country. With age comes sight loss. With sight loss comes adjustment and compensation!

So why is it that neither my local Tesco nor WH Smiths stock any large print puzzles. Occasionally smaller shops will have them but I am not always asked to buy them all the time, just as a Christmas present.

I spoke to the WH Smiths store Manager and he says he has no say as to what stock they receive, they just get what they are given. I contacted Tesco and they said they would raise it with their buying team. Maybe next Christmas I can shop locally and not be forced to shop on line. We will see.

I did of course offer my consultancy services to Tesco regarding the elderly !
