Mobile Phones for Older People

Mobile Phones that suit the needs of the elderly.

Many older people are keenly embracing mobile phone technology now which is understandable. Mobility scooter users are no exception….and not whilst driving I hasten to add!!

If someone is using a scooter and the battery runs out or they have a puncture you could be stranded. Having the phone number of your local repair/servicing agent or shop in their mobile provides peace of mind.

As we age the ability of the brain to master new technology is often reduced. Many companies offer easy to use mobile phones such as the Doro Phone Easy 612  and Age UK have their own called the Own Fone  I have also written about in another article.

Simple mobile phones that allow you to just make calls and text are available. These have larger screens and an easy to read keypad. They also offer extra loud and  clear sound functions. I am currently trialling the Amplicomm M800 which is a smart phone with all the capabilities of a normal android smart phone yes it ideal for someone with hearing loss and to some extent sigh loss also. on behalf of Hearing Direct. I definitely think we will all still want to be accessing our social media and the internet as we do now as we all age, What do you think ?
