Anti-social Fireworks

Remember, Remember the 5th of November

Tomorrow may be Bonfire night but many of us have been seeing and hearing fireworks exploding for days.

Whilst most of us love fireworks they are quite often scary for the elderly.

By law fireworks should not be let off  between 11 pm and 7 am. Anti-social use of fireworks needs to be reported to the police. It is helpful to the elderly who do not like the noise of fireworks to keep the television or radio turned up to disguise the bangs.

Sad to advise this also but if troubled by mischievous youngsters, consider taping over the letter box, just for the night.

Remember, remember the fifth of November

Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes, guy, t’was his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England’s overthrow.

By God’s mercy he was catch’d
With a darkened lantern and burning match.
So, holler boys, holler boys, Let the bells ring.
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the king.

And what shall we do with him?
Burn him!
