Just checking monitoring service – keeping an eye on elderly relatives.
Short of installing CCTV cameras or constantly pestering them with phone calls and texts, how do you ensure an elderly loved one is safe and well ? “Just checking” is a service which helps anyone wanting to remain at home and confirm to concerned relatives that all is well. More and more carers for relatives are remote carers living further and further away due to family and work commitments.
Just Checking works with the installation of small movement sensors placed around the home. These sensors notify the remote carer/relative that the elderly person has got up in the morning, made a meal or left the back door open. It also logs whether someone has left the home and can tell how long for (but not where the person has gone). There are no prying cameras or microphones and it is designed really to allay the fears of a loved one.
The system can be rented and if someone is eligible through disability or dementia then it is also free of VAT.
From as little as £3 a day (£2.50 if VAT exempt) plus and initial deposit, this may delay the need for someone to go into residential care.
