Wheeled walking aids for the elderly

Wheeled walking aids for the elderly offer both safety and practical help both in and out of the home.

Many elderly people struggle with mobility. This coupled with the need to also carry items from room to room at home and manage shopping purchases when out, make wheeled walking aids a practical solution.

There are many variants available but I saw this one the other day being used in a sheltered housing development I visit. It not only offers practicality but it also was a nice looking design.

The other massive plus for this model is it is extremely light-weight, ideal for using when travelling by public transport, plus it has a seat.

The Roma Medical City Walker   is a very light yet strong  wheeled walking aid weighing only (15lbs).

Its main features include handles that can be adjusted to suit the users height. It also has both parking and running brakes & a shopping bag.

Although more expensive than other models available it has had excellent reviews from customers.

“I have MS so I need help with my balance, I can relax more when walking because I am not worried about falling. It has given me the confidence to venture outside again by myself. This walker is excellent, having a strong ‘mesh’ seat and backrest it is very comfortable. What a blessing to be able to sit down when I am tired, rest my legs and back.
The large bag is quickly removed/attached and holds a good deal of shopping. The backrest is even handy to hold my jacket when I get too hot.
Height adjustment was easy to arrange, just the press of a small ‘tab’ in the framework, so no more getting frustrated with screws.
The walker is manageable for me on my own, I am able to fold it myself and lift in/and out of my car boot. It has the added advantage of folding down even smaller for storage.
I really wish I had invested into this City Walker a long time ago.”

“Mobility restored. Very grateful, the box arrived before expected, well packaged, easy to put together. It was soon second nature to get used to walking within the wheels, and the handle height adjustments easy to make. The bag is surprisingly large, with a shoulder strap for ease of use. The seat is very comfortable. All in all, a very good buy”

“My wife is doubled up with osteoporosis and had previously used a cheap 4-wheel walker with seat. This Rollator is 100 percent better. Very well made, robust and easy to fit in car boot. Seat and backrest comfortable. Excellent value for money.”
