I love the Supascoota range from Cavendish Healthcare. They’re eye-catching, practical and different. They’re also quirky and fun. Not all disabilities are the same, so why should your scooter be?

What makes the Supascoota Super?

  • 360 turning makes them super manoeuvrable
  • Pivoting front wheels – 4 wheels on the ground when uneven (not on the 3-wheeled options!)
  • Apart from the Microlite, the scooters automatically slow down on corners

The Supascoota Range

The Supascoota family consists of seven members. From tiny and lightweight for town use to robust for more exciting adventures, there is a Scoota for most people. Today I’m highlighting the Supalight range from Supascoota.

Prices currently range from £2245 to £2749

Supalites

Many people want a lightweight folding scooter that can fit in the car boot. The Supalite range comprises three very light yet capable Scootas.

Microlite

Weighing less than 20kg, this tiny scooter is more capable than it looks. I work for Cavendish Healthcare as my day job, and I know this scooter has hill-climbing capabilities. We don’t sell it as one, but it can manage an 11-degree gradient with a 12-stone man (my engineer Craig) on it.

Available in metallic blue only, the Microlite.

  • Weighs 18.2kg in total
  • Heaviest part 11.8kg – the frame minus seat and battery
  • Has a range of up to 8 miles, depending on gradient and user weight
  • Can carry up to 15 st
  •  Airline-compatible battery
  • Made from aircraft-grade aluminium
  • Has a motor output of 230w (whatever that means!)
  • Comes with a 2-year parts & 1-year labour warranty.
  • Flight-friendly Panasonic lithium battery

The seat lifts off. It also folds to save space, then you pull out the black knob at the front to release the tiller pin and fold down. It clips securely, forming what I call a “weight-lifter’s bar”. This makes it easy to lift, protecting your back.

SupaLite

This is the big sister of the mini Microlite. It comes in metallic red, with pneumatic tyres for a more comfortable ride. Her sporty red and black seat is both stylish and comfortable.

The Microlite can;

  • Has a maximum user weight of 20st
  • Weighs 20.4kg in total
  • The heaviest part weighs 13.6kg
  • & has an 8-mile range, again depending on gradient and user load
  • Turning radius of 86cm
  • Optional front basket
  • It is made from aircraft-grade aluminium
  • Has a motor output of 260w
  • Comes with a Panasonic lithium battery (Flight-friendly)
  • Has a built-in speed reduction system for safer cornering
  • Has dynamic braking and electronic magnetic brakes
  • 2-year parts warranty. 1 year’s labour

Supalite 4

Image shows a supalite4 mobility scooter. It is gold coloured and has 4 wheels. The rear two are larger and the front ones are closer together. The scooter has a black seat and no arm rests. The steering column and handlebars look like a bicycle.

The Supalite 4 is a superb, light-weight scooter and a popular choice for people seeking the reassurance of 4 wheels with the manoeuvrability of 3.

It is lightweight yet capable of managing more challenging terrain, such as parks and dry woodland trails.

  • Load capacity 20st
  • Range 8 miles
  • 260w motor
  • Folding seat
  • Can have armrests
  • Panasonic Lithium Battery (Flight friendly)
  • Total weight 21.1kg
  • Heaviest part 14.3kg
  • 2 years parts warranty. 1 year labour.

Supalite4 Sport

This short YouTube video sums up the top-of-the-range Supalite scoota.

The Supalite4 Sport boasts 9″ sports wheels to the rear, giving a greater ground clearance.

  • Maximum user weight 18st
  • Range 9 miles
  • Scooter weight: 20.6kg
  • Heaviest part 15.6kg
  • Panasonic Lithium battery (Flight friendly)
  • Comes with a basket and armrests

I’m well-positioned to write about the Supascoota range as I work in the Exeter showroom and demonstrate them daily. Initially I didn’t like them as they were different to conventional mobility scooters, but now I’m 100% sold on them. They are very reliable workhorses that are comfortable and fun.
