Blood test scam

Blood test scam, how low will crooks go ?

It never ceases to amaze me regarding the levels of cruelty some scammers will stoop to in order to con people, it appears there is a blood test scam

NICE, the National institute for Health Care Excellence have reported that random emails are being sent to unsuspecting victims reporting that a recent blood test shows a low white blood cell count which may indicate cancer.

The email then prompts them to download a file and visit their GP. When the file is downloaded it infects the computer and is able to steal data and enable the machine to be used for further scams.

You can imagine how distressed someone who has had a blood test would be !

Please remind anyone elderly that blood test results are never sent out in email form and should always be ignored. This is also applicable to any other email that arrives from and unknown source.
